"I would recommend to anyone seeking
publicity that they work closely with Jess Todtfeld.
Although I felt quite capable of getting myself some
publicity, I really didn't know what I was doing and
pretty much fumbled my way around. I had a
|
pretty good idea of how the whole "pitch"
thing worked, but I still couldn't come up with the
precise words I needed to nail down my subject. I did
manage to get some interviews on my own, but I was never
comfortable about how I was coming off to the various
media. I wanted to sound like I knew exactly what I was
doing, and I know now that I didn't.
With Jess's help, I knew EXACTLY what to say and to
whom, nailing down interview after interview with no
more than a sentence or two.
Jess was there for me every step of the way. I just
finished my first TV interview with NBC, done at my
home, and have two of the three network affiliates
working me into their schedules for in-studio interviews
sometime over the next few weeks.
Don't kid yourself (like I did for awhile) that you
can fake your way with media producers. Maybe you
can, up to a point, but there is no substitute for
having Jess at your side guiding you through this
minefield.
If you want publicity, then I cannot recommend strongly
enough that you hire someone IN THE BUSINESS, and that
this someone be Jess Todtfeld."
