These videos were produced to help the meeting planners build excitement for the event. When Jess Todtfeld showed up at the opening party, people walked up, said they knew him, enjoyed the videos, and were looking forward to staying until the closing keynote. (Some attendees in the past would cut out early and go home.) The meeting planner was especially happy to see attendance stay high until the very end.
