Our Commitment

Success in Media is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all visitors, including people with disabilities. We believe everyone deserves equal access to information about our media training, presentation coaching, and crisis communication services. Accessibility is not an afterthought for us -- it is a core part of how we build and maintain our site.

We are continually working to improve the accessibility and usability of successinmedia.com, and we welcome your feedback on how we can do better.

Standards We Follow

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines are widely recognized as the international standard for web accessibility and cover a wide range of recommendations for making web content more accessible to people with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities.

WCAG 2.1 AA compliance means our site is designed to be:

• Perceivable -- Information and interface components are presented in ways that all users can perceive, regardless of sensory ability.
• Operable -- Navigation and interactive elements work for users with different input methods, including keyboards, screen readers, and assistive technologies.
• Understandable -- Content and interface behavior are clear, predictable, and easy to comprehend.
• Robust -- Content is compatible with current and future assistive technologies and user agents.

Measures We Have Taken

We have implemented the following measures to support accessibility across our website:

Semantic HTML

Our pages are built with proper semantic HTML elements -- headings, landmarks, lists, and navigation regions -- so that screen readers and other assistive technologies can interpret page structure correctly. We use appropriate heading hierarchy (h1 through h6) to organize content in a logical order.

Color Contrast

We have selected our color palette to meet WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratios. Text and interactive elements maintain sufficient contrast against their backgrounds so that content remains readable for users with low vision or color vision deficiencies. Our primary navy (#1D3557) and slate (#4a5568) text colors against white backgrounds, and our white text against navy backgrounds, meet or exceed the 4.5:1 contrast ratio for normal text.

Keyboard Navigation

All interactive elements on our website -- links, buttons, forms, and navigation menus -- can be accessed and operated using a keyboard alone. Users who cannot use a mouse can navigate through the site using the Tab key to move between elements and the Enter or Space keys to activate them. Focus indicators are visible on interactive elements so users can track their position on the page.

Alternative Text for Images

We provide descriptive alternative text (alt attributes) for all meaningful images on our site. Decorative images that do not convey information are marked appropriately so screen readers skip over them. This ensures that users who rely on screen readers receive the same information as sighted users.

Accessible Forms

Our contact and quote request forms include properly associated labels, clear instructions, and descriptive error messages. Form fields are labeled so that screen reader users understand what information is being requested. Required fields are clearly indicated, and error messages explain how to correct any issues.

Skip Navigation Links

We provide skip navigation links that allow keyboard users and screen reader users to bypass repeated navigation elements and jump directly to the main content of each page. This saves time and reduces frustration for users who navigate sequentially through the page.

Responsive Design

Our website is fully responsive and adapts to different screen sizes, devices, and orientations. Content can be resized up to 200% without loss of information or functionality. This benefits users who need to zoom in to read text, as well as users on mobile devices or tablets.

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, there may be areas of our website that are not yet fully accessible. Specific known limitations include:

• Third-party content: Some embedded content from third-party services (such as Calendly scheduling widgets or embedded video players) may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We have limited control over the accessibility of third-party platforms, but we choose service providers that demonstrate a commitment to accessibility and we monitor their progress.
• Older content: Some pages or documents created before our current accessibility standards were adopted may not yet meet all guidelines. We are working to identify and update this content.
• PDF documents: Some downloadable PDF documents may not be fully accessible to screen readers. Where possible, we provide HTML alternatives or are in the process of remediating these documents.
